3. EU Artificial Intelligence Act Proposal - Conformity assessment procedures

In this third video, we will analyze conformity assessment procedures established by the AI Act Proposal for high-risk AI systems.

These aim at minimizing the burden on economic operators and Notified Bodies in the field of AI. when AI systems are used as safety components of other products (e.g. medical devices) that are subject to the norms contained in the AI Act, they will be subject to the same ex-ante and ex-post compliance mechanisms of the products of which they are components.

Hence, AI systems will be subject to 2 sets of requirements:

• those established by a sectorial legislation
• those established by the AI act.
