Federica Pucarelli

After graduating in Law from the Alma Mater of Bologna, lawyer Federica Pucarelli obtained the "Master of Specialization Level I in Personal Data Processing and Privacy Officer" at Cirsfid - Alma Mater Studiorum of the University of Bologna, which allowed her to gain specialized knowledge in the field of compliance with the legislation on personal data protection.

Since joining Studio Legale Stefanelli & Stefanelli, she has been providing legal advice in the field of personal data protection, in particular in the fields of health and labor law. She assists companies in the implementation of data management systems, for the analysis by design of data processing, mapping of business processes, drafting and verification of organizational procedures, and also performs the task of outsourced privacy office.

Artificial Intelligence and data protection: a possible coexistence?

The aim of European legislation on AI is to ensure - as stated in the Explanatory Memorandum of the Proposal for a Regulation on AI - that 'European citizens can benefit from new technologies developed and operated in accordance with the values, fundamental rights and principles of the Union'.  Among these rights, the right to the protection of personal data certainly plays a primary role.

News for the opposition register. What fate for telemarketing?

On 13 April 2022, Presidential Decree no. 26 of 27 January 2022, which contains the regulation on the objections register, will come into force.
The decree regulates the right of individuals to object to the processing of their data for "the purpose of sending advertising or direct sales material, or for carrying out market research or commercial communication". The Decree will be operational from July 2022.
